Artreach India Art Room

In our programmes we often come across children who wish to continue their engagement with art, but have no means to sustain their interest and practice. This is due to lack of space, guidance and material resources. The Art Room offers an open access space stocked with a wide variety of materials and teaching imparted through planned workshops. The Art Room is for the children of the schools and homes we work with and the young artists who are alumni of our Teaching Fellowship Programme. Through the Art Room we want to build a community of young artists who can exchange ideas and support and further each others’ art dreams.

We launched the Art Room on July 14, 2016 with a charcoal workshop by mumbai artist Trishna Patnaik.

On a monsoon evening as the courtyard was flooded and 100 girls played in the rain the 15 girls from the Kilkari and Khushi Homes who participated in our first Teaching Fellowship made beautiful art.
